Karate Kid

I know this doesn't have anything to do with writing but my brother just got his black belt in karate! I'm so proud of him. Congratulations Michael! You're awesome.

When I was in Austin last year for an extended visit, Michael spent a lot of his free time practising katas (movement routines) in the living room. I went to a few workouts with him and a tournament this spring.

When we were living in Hawaii with our parents (all those many years ago) Mike was in love with surfing and he was good at that too. He's got some chilling hammerhead shark stories. It's great to see him linking back to what comes natural for him.
