The Duchess & Ghost Town

UPDATE: In spite of good reviews, audiences chose to see the other new films out films this weekend, namely LAKEVIEW TERRACE and MY BEST FRIEND'S GIRL. IGOR (the animated Tim Burton lookalike monster comedy from Weinstein/MGM) did better than expected but probably only because it had no competition. This is why no-one can reliably predict the box office.

That still doesn't change the fact that there are two great new movies for adults out this weekend, GHOST TOWN (a dark comedy starring Ricky Gervais about a misanthropic dentist who "dies" and revives with the ability to not only see but talk to dead people)...

...and THE DUCHESS (a biopic period piece based on Amanda Foreman's book GEORGIANA, The Duchess of Devonshire) about one of Princess Diana's famous ancestors who shared her worldwide popularity, beauty and marital misfortune.
